Merchandise

There's lots of YYH merchandise out there and here I'll list a few of them that have to do with Kurama and where you can obtain them. This section should most likely be updated fairly often since YYH is still very popular in its native home of Japan and something is always going on with it. I'll also try to post news about merchandise here in America since it's easier to find.

This is one of the first series of Yu Yu Hakusho action figures from FUNimation. Kurama is close to 8 inches tall in his trademark Meiou school uniform and comes with a single red rose and his trademark rose whip. He's fully posable and the painting is finely done and super detailed. You can't go to the store and buy this item anymore since its release was only for a limited time. You're best bet to get this is from eBay.com or Amazon.com.

Another Kurama item originally from Japan that has now been serialized by FUNimation. It's a chibi Kurama key chain of him in his school uniform pointing at his shoe and is made out of 3D soft squishy foam. You can buy this in stores or at the official FUNimation store. There is also a tiny button version of the same chibi but it is not sold by FUNimation. You'll have to do a search for anime stores that carry it. Most of them probably have it in stock.

This is a very rare Kurama item. Plushies are not sold domestically in stores in Japan, you can only obtain them by playing the claw game in arcades. To the Japanese they're like what stuffed animal prizes are to us. It's hard to find these in online stores since they sell out very quickly. Your best bet to find them is at eBay.com. There are people online who make custom plushies, usually of a lesser quality but each one is unique and one of a kind.

There are lots of YYH posters out there, but this is a very nice one of Kurama with Youko in the background, a favorite picture of mine. With its bright colors, it's a great addition to any room. I'm not entirely sure but there may also be a wallscroll version of this as well. This is sold in FUNimation's online store but it can also be found in stores, such as Suncoast.

Newly released is the Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament game for the PlayStation 2 game system! Here you can play all your favorite characters and experience the Ankoku Bujuutsukai for yourself! Here's a screencap of one of Kurama's fights with Karasu featuring the site's namesake Fuka-Enbu-Jin! Screencap provided by http://www.ign.com/.

According to youkokurama.com the YYH Kanzenban manga has finally been released! Kanzenban basically means "complete version" and showcases new cover art for the manga by Togashi-sensei and a few pages of the original manga in full color. The second volume has Kurama on the cover and has already been released as of this August. A treat for any fan! ^^ Check out the official site for more info.

Also, from youkokurama.com big news for us YYH fans, the series is finally getting it's own drama CDs! On December 10 2004 is the release date but starting at the end of October you can special order it. It features all the original seiyuu -- meaning Ogata Megumi reprises her role as Kurama :D -- and features a voiced version of Two-Shots, the manga extra story of how Kurama and Hiei first met. The first wave of releases are special editions and feature two shitajiki, one of Yuusuke and Keiko and the other of Kurama and Hiei. Check out the official site for more info.
