Why

There are those out there who may be curious as to how I got into YYH and why I made this site in the first place, so this section is here to answer those questions. In late summer of 2000, I made a trip down to my local Blockbuster to perhaps rent some anime I had yet to see. On the shelf was something that had caught my interest. It was called Poltergeist Report, otherwise known as the Yu Yu Hakusho movie. At the time I only heard of the general storyline and it did happen to spark curiosity in me, so I decided to rent it. And fell in love with it I did.

Like so many others, I was introduced to YYH through the movie, which was released in the states earlier than the tv series two years ago. After watching the movie I just had to watch the series, so I downloaded as many fansubs as I could. After watching the first few episodes, I fell in love with the characters. Ironically, I didn't care much for Kurama at first. It was Hiei who held my interest because I was interested in "bad boys" at the time. But after rewatching the series a few more times, my love for Hiei dwindled (though it is still there) and my love for Kurama sprang forth and held on to this day.

As to why I made this site the answer is simple. Kurama is one of my favorite anime characters and I want to share my love for him with other fans. At the time I got into YYH, I wasn't in the fandom or anything because there were so many great sites for YYH already. I just didn't think I could compete with all of them so I put the idea of a Kurama shrine on hold... for several years. ^^; It wasn't until just recently with the licensed release of the FUNimation dub and the outbreak of the shrines based on the dub, that I felt I needed to do something. There are only a handful of high-quality Kurama sites still out there that are just based on the sub version. I'm a big sub fan myself when it comes to any anime series, so I thought now would be the good time to make my shrine for Kurama. ^_^
